The team played Chapel Hill and Cardinal Gibbons in back-to-back games on September 25th and September 26th, losing the first game to Chapel Hill and the second game to Cardinal Gibbons.  Both games were hard-fought and displayed the trepidation of this year's JV Panthers, not to mention their composure.

Aidan Farrell, Player of the Game (Cardinal Gibbons)
The team faced Chapel Hill the first night and sprung one on the Tigers by going up 1-0 in the first half with a goal from Gerardo Figueroa. The team excitedly played out the first half with each player being told one or two technical or tactical areas of improvement throughout the game.

Gerardo Figueroa was named Player of The Game not only for his goal, but also for his constant hustle as a center midfielder and his quick, tactful, decision-making in the middle. Great game, Gera!

Gera Figueroa, Player of the Game (Chapel Hill)
Despite a 4-1 loss, the team knew where to tighten up as individuals, and took that into the following game against Cardinal Gibbons.

Fighting until the last whistle, the JV panthers were thrilled to see Caleb Gray score with a header in the Cardinal Gibbons game.  Both keepers played fearlessly and were commended for their effort and saves.  Aidan Farrell (above right) was named the player of the game for his non-stop fight and hard work, chasing down the Gibbons defenders and never giving up.

Hungry for their first conference win, the JV Panthers faced opponent J.F. Webb on Wednesday, October 3rd. The team focused on those specific areas of improvement from the previous games and practices and were happy to see goals from Danny Archibard, Caleb Anderson (2), Adam Medina, Lionel Reid-Shaw, Davis Scott, Daniel Allred, and Joey Ricca, as well as assists from Austin Goehring, Lionel Reid-Shaw, and Aidan Farrell (2).
Cyrus Rainey, Player of the Game (J.F. Webb)

The Player of The Game against J.F. Webb was Cyrus Rainey (shown right), who improved greatly throughout practice last week, played with lots of hustle against J.F. Webb, and set up some good passes at both midfield and forward positions.  Great game, Cyrus!

The team heads into their second match against Chapel Hill tomorrow at Chapel Hill.  The JV game will begin at 5pm.
